Stanley Tree Service Inc., a 35-year accredited TCIA member company based in Smithfield, Rhode Island, this summer started a community initiative to remove one tree per year for a deserving family for $1, and the company is challenging other tree care companies to do the same.

“We started this challenge because we saw a need to assist with trees that could cause real damage for people who can’t afford the removal,” says Emma Senerchia, social media and marketing specialist for Stanley Tree Service.

The company posted a video and story on social media and has received some great feedback. A neighboring tree care company has already accepted the challenge. Another local company has offered to sharpen the chipper knives for a tree care company engaged in the challenge, and a landscaper has offered to mow a lawn for $1.
